About us

From the same dedication for our best friends and from a shared passion for nature and science, this is where our adventure began. An adventure in looking beyond …, exploring naturopathy and looking at the whole picture (holos – holistic care).

With the best of nature, we want to keep our dogs in balance and watch over their well-being preventively.  We want to form a bridge between regular and complementary veterinary medicine, in which we attach great importance to the connection between animals, humans and nature. Letting dogs be the best version of themselves, in harmony with humans and nature, that is the dream we strive for. Canis energeticus!

In order to realize our dream, we have built a network of experts, where we share (and want to disseminate) our knowledge, expertise and respect for nature, people and animals. We are extremely grateful to have been given the opportunity to learn, research and experiment a lot. Of course with the necessary trials and errors, but with amazing results.

This hunger for improvement, for fascination, for growth of knowledge and for sharing it, are of great value to us. What we do, we want to do even better in the future. Think of it as a muscle: the more we learn and the more we inspire, the stronger that muscle becomes.

Ann Vanbroekhoven

As a veterinarian, I am grateful to be able to treat and support our pets through proper care and medication.

Although it is often necessary to give our four-legged friends medication, I asked myself whether there is another way. In practice, I realized that not every complaint can be solved simply with a pill. This question, together with a personal physical wake-up call, led me to explore alternatives beyond the boundaries of classical medicine. I started to delve into the world of phytotherapy and orthomolecular medicine and discovered that classical and complementary care can complement each other harmoniously.

First of all, I started taking care of my own body in a more natural way. Soon I experienced the positive impact on my own health. I became aware of the power that lies in natural substances and how they can reset the healing ability of the body. From that moment on, I was determined to extend this type of care to our pets. I started looking for natural products with the right nutrients, but time and time again I returned disappointed. Let’s just say that’s when the seed of acanhi was planted. She would achieve her dream herselves.

Anne-Catherine Triest

As a young girl, Anne-Catherine had a deep dream of becoming a veterinarian, but in the end she chose a different path. Yet, her love for animals and her care for these beautiful creatures continued to grow in her heart.

At a young age, she developed a fascination for scents and jars. One of her favorite pastimes was poking around in her parents’ (grand)parents’ bathroom, where she started mixing different scents like an alchemist and taking in their aromas.

At one point, Anne-Catherine’s father was confronted with intense neck pain. For years, classical medicine searched in vain for a cause, but unfortunately no answer was found. As a last resort, he began taking anti-inflammatory drugs and other medications to relieve the pain. In desperation, he decided to make an appointment with Dr. Aelbrecht (author of ‘Homo energeticus’). After a more extensive examination, the diagnosis of ‘gout’ was made. A treatment was started, consisting of a detox cure, the right supplementation and an adapted diet. The discovery of the impact of a natural detox, supplements and nutrition made a deep impression on Anne-Catherine. The realization that this approach could bring about such a change was truly impressive… Wow.
